Recap
East of Scotland Premier League – Saturday 26th February 2022
Blackburn United 1 (Browne pen 90+3)
Penicuik Athletic 2 (Tansey 30, Forbes 53)
The wind played a big part in the game and it was a bit of a leveller with neither keeper having too much to do.
Penicuik opened the scoring on the half hour mark when a Lamb throw-in on the left was squared to Paul Tansey 20 yards out and he cracked a tremendous shot past Saunders into the far corner of the net. There wasn’t a lot of other clear chances during the first half.
The visitors increased their lead soon after the re-start when a corner was looped into the box and Andrew Forbes rose unmarked to head back across Saunders into the net.
In the closing minutes a Richie Hutton effort from distance was touched over the bar by Watt, and then in injury time Jack Garrad was bundled over in the box and Michael Browne converted the spot kick but it was too late to change to outcome.
